Hollywood Misdemeanor Cases

Misdemeanor cases where the defendant is OUT OF CUSTODY except for traffic matters, are typically heard at the Hollywood court oh Hollywood and Wilcox. Traffic matters, including DUI cases are heard at the Metropolitan Court on Hill St. All other misdemanor matters are arraigned at Bauchet St and eventually sent to department 40 of the Criminal Courts Building on Temple St. for all pretrial matters. Trials are sent to other courts in the Criminal Courts Building when available or to other places in the county if not.

Hollywood Felony Cases

Felony arrests in Hollywood are arraigned in Department 30 of the Criminal Courts Building on Temple St. Once arraigned, the case is either sent to department 50 for early disposition, or to a Preliminary Hearing court on the 3rd floor of CCB. Once a preliminary hearing has happened, if the defendant is held to answer, the case is sent either to the 11th floor, the 13th floor or the 15th floor depending on the court matrix for that day.
